Investment credit

An investment credit is a medium- to long-term credit intended to finance the acquisition or replacement of fixed assets in full or in part, to maintain or increase the company's productivity.

The amounts borrowed are in principle unlimited and can be withdrawn on one or several occasions in accordance with the project's progress.

The term varies depending on the economic life of the investment, the minimum period being three years.

The credit is repaid in accordance with the object financed and the company's treasury requirements.

European Investment Bank program

A program[1] set up by the EIB to finance investment projects in the area of climate action and environmental sustainability for small and medium-sized enterprises*

Do you have a small or medium-sized business in Luxembourg?
ING Luxembourg and the European Investment Bank (EIB) are renewing their partnership[2] to provide a financing program to support Luxembourgish SMEs in their investment projects in the area of “climate action and environmental sustainability”. Eligible companies will be able to benefit from a reduced interest rate, provided they meet the eligibility criteria, i.e. a positive result on the EIB Green Eligibility Checker available on the EIB website (https://greenchecker.eib.org/). To this end, a budget of €20 million is provided to stimulate investments for this type of project and/or assets through a reduced interest rate.

*Your project can be considered if:

  • The minimum amount is €125,000;
  • It meets the “climate action and environmental sustainability” eligibility criteria set by the EIB.

[2] In its capacity as the EIB’s financial intermediary, ING Luxembourg has no involvement and cannot be held responsible for the choices, workings or decisions made by the Green Eligibility Checker or the green label used by the EIB and more generally for the sustainability aspects that may be mentioned or derived therefrom.
By participating in this program, you are likely to benefit from an interest rate that is 0.60% lower than the standard credit and/or leasing interest rate. Don’t hesitate to contact us for any further information you may require.

Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy. So are our clients, and so is ING. We finance a lot of sustainable activities, but we still finance more that’s not. See how we’re progressing on ing.com/climate.

Equipment Credit

The equipment credit is one of the tools of the Société Nationale de Crédit et d'Investissement – or "SNCI", Luxembourg's national credit and investment corporation – to promote non-industrial and trading businesses that favour the Grand Duchy's economic development. It involves long-term cofinancing granted jointly by ING and the SNCI with a view to funding depreciable property, plant and equipment and amortisable intangible assets, as well as land serving exclusively for professional purposes.

Under certain conditions, the SNCI's participation allows companies to enjoy beneficial fixed interest rates applicable to investment credits. It is the SNCI that sets this interest rate. In order to receive an equipment credit, ING Luxembourg submits a request to the SNCI, which decides on accepting the application.

ING's business advisors are available to provide companies with information, in particular regarding the various forms of state aid.
